I started this blog when I was a graduate student at MIT Sloan with a 13 month old girl and later pregnant with my second. I post about toys and gears that worked for then my two children. I am an engineer so I care on science and engineer learning for my kids. I check and clear the reviewed item with the government recall website. I also check for material safety. I do no receive any toys or payment, this is my opinion based on my kids experience.
Less toys is ... more fun
My kids have too many toys and their friends have even more. It is like a wardrobe, editing makes the toybox more effective, more fun in this case.
Editing is hard to do because it takes time and planning. We leave our living room empty but for 3 bins of blocks: plan toys, Tegu and Magna-tiles. We have a closet where we keep puzzles, games and drawing supply and a couple of pretend play items. Finally a bin holds wooden train tracks and trains. This is as edited as we could get.
