It is an obvious toy but it is fun, educational and most importantly it builds self-esteem. My toddler loves to put blocks together. We have a few people and animals. We play almost every night before sleep. Before 2, these may be hard to assemble and will simply be shuffled around. After 2, LEGO Duplo blocks are a must-have. My niece who is 8 came over and she still plays with her set.
Update:
I have a more recent post, three years later, where I have a less enthusiastic assessment of this toy. On the long run, these gather dust unlike the wooden blocks from Haba, Plan Toys or Tegu.
